How Iran Pajouhesh Began
The story of Iran Pajouhesh goes back to the late 1960s, when its founders started working on small personal engineering projects. At the time, most automotive parts were made with electromechanical systems that had many limitations and didn’t last long. These issues caused challenges both for manufacturers trying to build reliable vehicles and for customers using them.
But times were changing and with that came new opportunities. A group of young, motivated engineers saw a gap in the market and stepped in. In the early 1980s, right as the country was going through major social changes and the Iran-Iraq War was starting, they came together to form a small but ambitious industrial venture. Their goal: to build the foundation for producing electronic car parts in Iran. That first step turned into a long-standing business that still continues today.
From Giga Electronics to Iran Pajouhesh
In 1984, the team officially registered the company under the name Giga Electronics, laying the groundwork for future collaborations with the country’s largest automakers and institutions. Just a year later, the company name changed to Iran Pajouhesh, which has remained ever since.
Thanks to strong product innovation and engineering know-how, Iran Pajouhesh quickly earned the trust of major companies including Iran Khodro (formerly Iran National), SAIPA, Pars Khodro, Zamyad, Tabriz Tractor, Irtoya.
A Turning Point in Production
A major step forward came in 1997, when Iran Pajouhesh began producing electronic relays a strategic product just as the first Pride cars entered the Iranian market. Some of the car components were designed and manufactured in-house using reverse engineering techniques.
Over the past two decades, Iran Pajouhesh has focused heavily on research and development, with a clear strategy to create high-quality, locally-made products. The company has played an important role in supplying key components like voltage regulators, electronic modules, alternators, and signal systems to the Iranian automotive industry.
